Die & tool steel
Reviewing tool life and processing conditions
We review sourcing for cold-work die and tool materials such as SKD11. Application, heat treatment, hardness, structure and surface requirements define the requested delivery condition.

Product & application
Hardness alone is not enough to select a tooling material. We review whether wear, cracking, distortion or chipping is the main concern, alongside delivery condition, heat treatment and machining allowance. High-speed and cold-work die steels are separate families. Changes from a specified grade require customer approval.
- Supply forms
- Round/square stock · cut material · machining allowance by agreement
- Application examples
- Cold-forming dies, shearing dies, forming rolls and wear-resistant tooling

These are specification inputs for quotation review. Actual availability, minimum quantity and lead time are confirmed by grade and size.
- Condition & surface
- Annealing, hardness, structure and heat-treatment requirements
- Dimensions & order
- Bar/block dimensions, machining allowance and surface-defect criteria
- Inspection & documents
- Specify mill certificates, tests, traceability and customer approvals. Document availability, cost and timing are reviewed.
Representative grades & review scope
